No. 1 UConn hosts Syracuse in Big East battle

There are lots of Top 25 NCAA College Basketball matchups on tap this week for basketball bettors.

On Wednesday, the No. 22 Syracuse Orange take on the No. 1 team in the country, the Connecticut Huskies, in a Big East conference battle (7 pm ET, ESPN).

The Huskies are 22-1 SU overall and 8-1 SU atop the Big East. The Orange are 18-6 SU overall and 6-5 SU in the Big East.

Connecticut is 6-4 SU and ATS over the past 10 meetings with the Orange. The teams last squared off on Feb. 6 last season, when the Huskies squeaked out a 63-61 win as 2-point road dogs.

Syracuse is 18-6 SU in its past 24 overall, but just 1-4 SU in its past five. Connecticut is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in its past five overall, and also 5-0 SU in its past five at home.

Also Wednesday night, the No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels take on No. 5 Duke Blue Devils in an ACC conference battle (9 pm ET, ESPN).

On Thursday, the No. 6 UCLA Bruins visit No. 18 Arizona State in a Pac-10 matchup (9 pm ET, ESPN), and Saint Mary’s hosts No. 21 Gonzaga (11 pm ET, ESPN2).
