The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the Kansas Jayhawks, at Virgin Islands Sport & Fitness Center, for some college hoops action.
The Kansas Jayhawks are on a serious roll lately winning all of their first ten games. They recently killed the Ohio Bobcats, 88-51, at home. The top producers for the Jayhawks were Darrell Arthur with 14pts and 8 REB; Mario Chalmers had 17pts and 5 assists. The Jayhawks average 85 PPG and they’re the fifth best team from the field. Their average from the 3-point line and they average 12 ORPG. Their defense is stellar allowing 58 PPG and they can shut down their opponents in the paint. They aren’t the greatest at stopping the 3-pointer but their defense is great at defensive rebounding. The team leaders for the Jayhawks are Darrell Arthur with 13 PPG and Mario Chalmers leads in assists and steals. The Jayhawks are 1-0 on the road and they sit on top of the Big 12 Standings.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets won their last game after suffering back to back losses. They recently beat the Georgia St Panthers, 72-67, at home. Lewis Clinch had a huge night with 22pts and off the bench Zach Peacock had 17pts. The main problem for the Yellow Jackets is their defense. They can’t defend in the paint or at the 3-point line. Their offense averages 78 PPG with the majority of their points coming from inside the paint and they manage to sink the odd 3-pointer. The top producer for the Yellow Jackets is Anthony Morrow with 16 PPG and big man Jeremis Smith leads in steals rebounds and blocks. The Yellow Jackets are 1-1 at home and they sit in 11th place in the ACC Standings.
Bottom Line: The Jayhawks have had only one road game so far, they beat USC and it was only a 4pt game. I think they have an excellent record because they’ve played all their games at home giving them the advantage. Compared to the Yellow Jackets four home games, I think that’s a joke. Expect a close game with the Jayhawks winning!
