There’s a battle of the unbeaten going on this weekend with the Memphis Tigers hosting the Georgetown Hoyas, at Sommet Center, for some college hoop action.

The Memphis Tigers recently beat the Cincinnati Bearcats, 79-69, on the road to keep their perfect season intact. Derrick Rose had a huge night with 26pts and 6 AST and Antonio Anderson had a 12pt night. As a team they shot 42% from the 3-point line and the majority of their points came from inside the paint. The Tigers offense averages 80 PPG with most of them coming from inside the paint. They have troubles pulling down rebounds under their basket. On defense they allow 63 PPG; they defend very well in the paint and their great at prevent the 3-pointer. They pull down a high 24 DREB a game. The starting five are Robert Dozier, Joey Dorsey, Antonio Anderson, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose. The Tigers are in 2nd place in the CUSA Standings and perfect at home.

The Georgetown Hoyas kept their perfect season going after the beat the Radford Highlanders, 110-51, at home. This wasn’t just a win, it was a SLAUGHTER. Austin Freeman had 21pts, DeJuan Summers 17pts 6 REB and Roy Hibert pulled down 7 REB. As a team 65% of their points were from inside the paint. The Hoyas average 74 PPG and they are the 4th best team inside the 3-point line. They also make 40% of the 3-pointers. Defense is where the Hoyas excel. They allow the least amount of points out of any team in the league, allowing a low 52 PPG. They shut down opponents in the paint and at the 3-pointer.They are a well oiled basketball team that’s always a fierce competitor for the Final Four. The starting five for the Hoyas are Johnathan Wallace, DaJuan Summers, Jessie Sapp, Patrick Ewing and Roy Hibert. The Hoyas are perfect on the road and they sit in 3rd place in the Big East Standings.
